:iconglsymbol-plz:Book of Oa: Proclamations of the Guardians of the Universe: Passage 16:iconglsymbol-plz:

You all know, I suppose. GL:TAS is being cancelled. So many things left undone. The Indigo Tribe, the Black Lanterns, Scar's future plans, Ganthet and Sayd's relationship, Aya's death, Razor becoming a blue lantern. So much potential, all to go to waste.

I confess myself immensely disappointed in this regard. It was a good show, and along with Young Justice, two shows that will no longer grace the television screens of DC lovers everywhere.
Also I'm going to miss Appa, the foul-tempered, loveable bastard

It's a shame, I watched the finale yesterday, so many ideas they could have explored, Scar, Larfleeze, the Black Lantern corps, Blue Lantern Razer.

Such a waste, shame on you Cartoon Network!!

Not to mention Sinestro revealing he's a yellow lantern and and attacking the Green Lantern Corps with his own Corps. Here's an interesting idea they could have tried, Fatality secretly hunting down the Green Lanterns.

It seems like most quality shows don't last. I think GLAS and YJ are targeted more towards an audience that doesn't really buy a lot of toys. A lot of people say its because the merchandise isn't being sold but how does that effect shows like Adventure Time and the Regular Show? I highly doubt these shows have mountains of products that keep the show alive,

Their replacements are Teen Titans: Go (a stupid looking looking show aimed at the lowest common denominator as far as story depth and animation) and Beware the Batman (a show that may not focus on cool criminals but detective work which may be good stories but hard for toy buying kids to follow). I don't think either of these series will last a second season.

i think even that beware the batman is gone as of this point. was not that good anyway. I was always like "what happened to all the GOOD batman villains?!" "why is this stupid show focused on a frog dude and a fat guy with a pig mask?!" WHERE THE HELL ARE THE CLASSICS. Watched teen titans go for like 6 episodes before I could not take it anymore. no story depth at all, if anything its just a parody of the series.

What's even worse is that they only canceled it to make room for a new Batman show.

And even worse? The show "Beware the Batman" sounds TERRIBLE.

i think both were too rushed along and not enough story development - they coulda hit something if they were more like a friday night lineup for the tween crowd and partnered them off w/ heroic female devoted shows as well for a true mixup but woulda shoulda coulda , its prolly the toy companies faults any ways want to exploit more of the wacky kids toys for the chibi teen titans

Also it would've been nice to see Sinestro finally go off the top and found the Sinestro Corps. And to see John Stewart. But I still felt pretty satisfied.

There is still hope for the shows, though. The writers themselves said they intentionally left them open ended in case another network wants to pick up where it left off. As much as we're out of our favorite cartoons, they're creativity was cut short as well. If someone else is smart enough to pick back up these successful shows, we might see the next seasons after all.

AHhh!!! I don't want EITHER of them to end. >< Why does everything GL just do badly? The movie AND the show were both great, and neither were given a proper chance. I think it sucks that it had great ratings, but because some fans didn't like it, and some execs thought it was time to cancel it... Same with Young Justice! YJ had amazing ratings one of the best, and SO many dedicated fans, yet they're cancelling it for Teen Titans GO! Which is a terrible mock of a show compared to the original series. -_-" This crap is seriously pissing me off! I WANT MORE GL:TAS AND YOUNG JUSTICE! It is the BEST and only reason I watch Cartoon Network anymore... Nothing else is worth it.

Actually, neither show got decent ratings once Cartoon Network pulled them off the friday night lineup.

When all shows (Including Thundercats and Clone Wars) were aired on Friday Nights, they all did really well. Clone Wars itself routinely pulled in 3 million viewers, so it was a monster.

Once Cartoon Network cancelled the friday night lineup and replaced it with that stupid space ghost hosted repeat show, and moved everything else exclusively to saturday mornings (Which relies only on small kids), that's when everything started falling apart.
Now, only Ben 10 seems to carry enough ratings to sell toys to justify it to the execs.

Truth is, the only thing that's spared Clone Wars, is the disney deal. Pretty sure it would have been cancelled too, otherwise.

I just don't understand the decision to take them off friday nights, to begin with. That's when the adult fans were active (Most will either DVR a saturday morning show, or watch it online through pirated channels, neither methods support ratings), and there's really nothing else for kids to watch on friday nights, either.

Wow, okay, I didn't know that. O.o
From what I saw they had decent ratings, but I guess I was misinformed. Either way, it's still really stupid to cancel it, it was a great show that could have gone for many seasons. (At least I think so) And it really sucks. They've effectively ruined my reasons for watching Cartoon Network...

Never watched it because I hate, HATE Bruce Timm's style. Shame, really. I would have watched it for sure if they hadn't used his style for the Animation.

From what I hear people say, it was good. Even though I hated the "artistic" style of this show, I'm still sad to see it go. Hal's first solo series and it gets cancelled without being given a true chance. They should have given this an additional season to tie up most of the loose ends then end it not cancel it on a cliffhanger. But that's the WB/CN (Whatever they call themselves these days) for you. Cancelling things without even thinking it through.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...
You hate Bruce Timm's style? O_O Why? Does that mean you refuse to watch ANY DC animated show? Because Bruce Timm pretty much works on all of them. The whole DCAU was all Timm? I'm not trying to be mean, just wondering why. xD Personally, I think he did amazing. :D

I hate his style because it's too blocky and unrealistic. But that's just me. ;)

And yes, I refuse to watch any DC Cartoon show that uses his style. I tried hard to watch Superman: TAS, but I just couldn't. So, before anyone says, "Hey, give him a chance, you might like his style." I did give his a style a chance. And I simply don't like it.

Not every DC Cartoon uses his style. From what I've seen of Young Justice, it seems to be more realistic than his style. It is similar, but not 100% like his. If it ever gets on Netflix, I might give that a chance (I don't have TV, so I can't watch it there).

Thank goodness the DC Cartoon movies don't use his style, for the most part. Been enjoying those on Netflix.

No, I get it. Like I said, I'm no artist, and I prefer to watch stuff based on their plot rather than their good or bad animation styles. (Honestly, it really doesn't bother me)

Hmm, all I can say is, you're missing out, but if you read comics, I suggest those (The stories are way better and way more expansive and usually don't get cancelled) but that's only if you're really into the DC characters and don't want to bother with the Animated shows.

And yeah, I know, but a good chunk of them do, and no, Young Justice is actually based in the Justice League Warner Premiere movie style animation, and the Batman/Superman WP animated movies, so it's definitely worth watching.

Oh yes, those movies are amazing. But, sadly I'm too die-hard a fan NOT to see anything that DC produces, regardless of good or bad, I very much enjoy just about everything they do. (Even comics now)

In terms of liking his style, Bruce Timm is really a hit or miss. You can appreciate that he does something different, or you can look at it as godawful anatomy and men that look like they will tip over if you poke them. I personally like his style, but I can very well see why other people don't.

Ah, I get it. See, at first, I wasn't thinking animation, but more story or otherwise, as far as animation, I don't know, it seemed alright to me, but then again I'm not an artist and I'm terrible at drawing, so I'm not too picky about most animation styles. But I can see where they were coming from.

A big part of the reason is Ben 10 has so many opportunities for toys, which is apparently why GL and YJ got cancelled. It really sucks when something you love is only fueled by money.

But Regular Show and Adventure Time are actually good shows... I can't speak for Ben 10, although with the current series being around it's 5th different version or whatever... I would have to say it's been on a little long... What we should SERIOUSLY be upset with, is Beware the Batman and Teen Titans Go!, which look terrible... The only Batman series I've seen that has come close to Batman: The Animated Series (in terms of Batman) is Batman: The Brave & The Bold... This new series takes too many liberties with the franchise, and doesn't look like something I'll be checking out at least... Don't get me started on the TTG show....

I still cannot believe they are doing this (cancelling it) and on a cliff hanger?! AH! It's Evil! Nekron and Black Hand are at it! We must start a petition and get THE Entity on our side! One season isn't enough for the Green Lantern. Also, for the comic book, now that Kyle is a White Lantern, I really do hope Sayd is brought back to life. I do want to see Ganthet and Sayd together. There needs to be some happiness somewhere in the Green Lantern series that we can be satisfied by.

Frankly I want them to make the Guardians nice again. They've been making them steadily more and more unnecessarily antagonistic. Unless you count the Third Army storyline, at which point it gains a ton of meaning. I just have a feeling that if they kill the Guardians (again) or get rid of them, Ganthet and Sayd will be lost to it too
